Flooring
Engineered oak, laminate and vinyl over prepared subfloors, with thresholds and trims finished.
Price
From £32 per m²
Typical duration
1 to 3 days

Before we start
We measure the moisture in the subfloor, especially on concrete and in older ground floors. Wood laid over a damp slab cups within months, so if the reading is high we fit a damp proof membrane or recommend a different floor.
Boards are delivered a few days early and left in the room to settle to its temperature and humidity.
Floors that stay flat
Squeaks and gaps usually come from the subfloor, not the boards. We screw down loose floorboards, level dips and lay the right underlay for the room before the new floor goes in.
Every job includes door trimming, thresholds and skirting or scotia, so the floor looks finished on day one.
What we lay
Engineered oak and walnut, laminate, luxury vinyl tile and sheet vinyl. We also sand and refinish original pine floorboards.
Stairs and thresholds
Where a new floor meets carpet or tiles we fit a threshold strip in a matching finish. Stair nosings are made to suit the boards, so the landing and the steps match.
Looking after the floor
We leave care instructions and the right cleaner for the finish. Oiled oak can be spot repaired with a cloth and a little oil, and lacquered floors need only a damp mop.
Recent jobs in this trade
Can you lay wood over underfloor heating?
Yes, with engineered boards rated for heated floors. We acclimatise the boards and follow a heating schedule before and after laying.
Do you move furniture?
We move standard furniture out of the room and back. Pianos, aquariums and very heavy items need to be cleared before we arrive.
